Beach Boys - Today!
The Boomtown Rats - Any greatest hits album should do - none of their individual albums ever jumped out at me. Bob Dylan - Every 60's album should be mandatory listening. As should the Bootleg Series up to 4. I'd also add a strong endorsement for Desire and Time Out of Mind. If you're not a huge fan though, I would stay away from most live albums and the basement tapes. Bob Seger - Ramblin' Gamblin Man. This was released in 1968 and there's nothing really special about it, so it never got a lot of credit. If you're ever in the mood for straight up rock and roll, though, it's perfect. |
