A lot of people have been asking about these...

We have added $500+35 HORSE Tournament on July 8th at 4:30 pm EST.

There is a $52,000 Prize Package Guaranteed. ($50,000 for the buyin of the World Series Event, which is on July 26th, and $2,000 cash to cover travel expenses).

There will be a lot of sub-satellites closer to the event, but right now you can get in through the following satellites (All of which are HORSE):

$24+2 on Mondays at 11:30pm EST.
$69+6 on Tuesdays at 6:30pm EST.
$69+6 on Wednesdays at 11:30pm EST.
$24+2 on Thursdays at 6:30pm EST.

Wow. They are guarenteeing a seat, so there will be atleast one satellite entrant.

Considering how soft the ME and the lower buyin NLHE/PLHE side events are, I think one can find better $EV+ opportunities. However, for a successful pro or reasonably wealthy hobbiest, buying in direct to this or trying to satellite in is probably fine as a challenge.

Can't look it up while at work...

I see the event starts on July 26th - anyone know when it ends?

I think its great they are introducing this event, especially at such a high buy-in. It will definitely draw some good competition and I am sure it will dodge the ME bingo factor.

i find it pretty lame that they are making the final table no limit holdem. i might be overestimating the poker audience, but i dont think people would mind seeing mixed games played by what will probably be a lot of top players.

NLHE final table is standard for mixed-game tournaments such as this one. it has nothing to do w/ harrahs or wsop making a "bad" decision. i haven't read any complaints from a name-player that is upset about the FT being NLHE...i'm sure they're used to it
