Getting a laptop...need help

I'm planning on getting a new laptop. I currently have a 2000 Dell Inspiron 5100 and it has been a living hell for me over the past four years (fan broke 4 times, new monitor, new video card, etc, etc, etc).

Because of my past problems, I want to get a portable business laptop that is extremely high quality. Dell is definetely not a choice at this point (even though they're solid for the most part, my personal agony over it is just too much to overcome). A friend suggested a Lenovo Thinkpad and I wanted some more expert insight.

If you are willing to spend the extra money, which it sounds like you are, I'd say look at Lenovo's and Macbook Pros
