i think its debatable since you played really so weakly, your flop raise is way small, your turn bet is small almost asking for a raise, the river actually help your hand in case he had some weird j9 hand, the river bet does scare me though since he just might have a set but he might have a9, j9 here enough

I'm guessing you called and he showed you 9s full or some such.

Raise pf to 2 (2+2 standard), bigger if there has been lots of variation in the pf bet sizes.

Pot the flop, or 90% of it. There are flush and maybe str8 draws, you need to protect your hand.

This is a fold on the river, probably a boat and I think you were born to lose this hand no matter what.

But, you would have been clearer about where you stood if you had bet strongly. You would then know that the c/r on the turn meant that you were almost certainly beat. Thus, you would maybe have found it easier to get away from this hand when the time came.

My 2c worth

Raise flop bigger, raise flop way bigger. A CB of less than half the pot with a complete blank on turn makes no sense, either bet big or check behind for pot control (I prefer betting). Fold river to shove.

i actually folded, so we'll never know for sure.

going into the river i would say i most likely pegged him for a hand like j9 (based on preflop call...i see a raise with JJ and maybe even 99) so when the board paired the 4, i was happy...

then he pushed. and i thought to myself, only the top 1% of donks dont realize that their two pair has just been counterfeited so what does his push mean? by folding, i obviously concluded he knew this and figured i may be more likely to call the overbet thinking i just outdrew him when he actually filled up.

so i decided considering how i played it i had to let it go.

any thoughts on knowing this guy was only playing one table? sometimes i search and use this as info although in this instance i didnt have time with all my other tables. obviously u show a different respect for a player 12 tabling than a guy just playing one. i tend to think a one tabler is more likely to bluff so if i had known this before i folded i wonder if i would have made the same decision...

About people who play multiple tables...I don't give people respect for playing multiple tables, some people are action junkies and play lousy at lots of tables. I do find that multi-tablers tend to be more straight forward in their betting patterns...

The only other thing I'd say about multi-tablers -- steal their blinds! The ideal situation is to be directly to the right of two of them! You may be able to thieve them for 50 hands without them catching on.
