Oh, I've played these so-called "tournaments" before. First they ask you for a "buy-in", but then out of the buy-in they take "registration fees" and sometimes even "tips". The "tournament" played just like regular "poker", but every 20 minutes the "blinds" increased. I did really "well" finishing "in the money", but even though I finished 5th I only got 3x my "buy-in" back. The "payout" structure was really "top-heavy".

"oh well"
"CSC"

Somewhat related, but certainly not as annoying... why do so many players look at their cards one last time after they've won a pot without a showdown?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think its so they can either privately think about how good their bluff was one last time, or frustratingly think about whether they should have bet less. I'm sure I've done it in the past, though not for any aesthetic reason.

This isn't really for MTTs so much as it is poker in general.

I hate the guys that make it a point to say "Nice Hand" EVERY [censored] HAND JUST STOP IT!! YOU DON'T MEAN IT AND YOU'RE NOT BEING SPORTSMANLIKE IT'S JUST ANNOYING.

People taking them too seriously is really annoying. At my local weekly tournament last year we had a guy who would go mental and be literally inconsolable for a few minutes after taking the slightest of beats. Case in point: First hand of a final table, me and him are both short stacks, we get it all in me with AK and him with JJ. He loses the coinflip and proceeds to act as if I've murdered his family.

Other than that, the thing when people show an irrelevant card after taking down a pot. Like we're gonna say 'OH, YOU ONLY HAD A Q KICKER TO YOUR ACE? LOLOLOL, AMAZING BRAVERY!"

This may not make sense, but I HATE a drunk player.

They take foreeeeeeever, and don't play near correctly.

I was in this like 40 person tourney, paid top four, and I was chip leader with five left.

Drunk guy keeps calling me, My AK beat by his Q4, then my 10 10 beat by 5-6, and so on and so on.

He takes the chip lead, then KO's me with his 22 vs my KK.

I get up and leave with nothing, drunk guy has like 75 percent of the chips with four people left.

He keeps playing like a maniac, and finishes, yep, fourth.

No sober person would have played the way he did.

I HATE drunks!

Exactly correct. Your first five words, anyway.

I hate it when people say '' nice bet'' .....I was once in a live tournament and someone bet 700 into a 900 pot and someone said '' oh i love betting 700 ..it's such a nice number..nice bet!!''

I wanted to kill the guy.

You should try higher limits where even the drunks respect your raises.

Interrogations during a hand.
I know people sometimes try to pick up on information by asking questions.

But a 20 minute interrogation gets annoying....

Do you want me to call?
I have a good hand, do you really want me to call?
Are you bluffing? I don't believe you, i think i may have you beat(then player fake mucks). Are you ready to go home? I am. What will you do if i push all in?
etc etc etc... It frustrates me, i'm impatient, call or fold i don't give a [censored] just make up your mind so i can move on either way.

And also guys who insist on giving play by play of every single hand out loud whether they are in the hand or not as well as their ENTIRE thought process. I knew he had this or that, wish i was in a i would have called his bluff. When he bet then scratched his head and burped i knew he was strong until he then proceeded to drink a sip of his water that made me realize he was bluffing but then i thought maybe he did that on purpose so i finally called. he had the nuts i should have stuck with my original read of blah blah blah.

nobody cares you called and lost or whatever, i don't care how you got to your decision just get there fast.

So I raise 98o from the button. SB calls. Flop is 8-high and SB leads out for 1/4 the pot. I raise the size of the pot.

Villain: Why did you raise so much?
Hero: <staring down at chips>
Villain: That's a mighty big raise.
Hero: <staring down at chips>
Villain: You must have a pretty good hand.
Hero: <staring down at chips>...
