re: Ellis Island
[ QUOTE ] We had all these blackjack match-plays but somehow I still dropped 40, and then 20 or 40 at craps, which I’d never played before. Yeah that was smart. [/ QUOTE ] Booooo... no pic of the ghetto Ellis Island craps table. It's a sight to behold. |

Note that with the POV & ACG, you have to join the Players Clubs anywhere you want to use a coup. |

Re: Trip Report Part 6 (end for Scott)
Great trip report.
Most of the hands you post were played ok, but those 2 last ones were pretty bad. Hand 1: Raising 33 preflop in a live multiway limped pot is pretty meh 'cause you won't get any fold equity anyways, and you'll always get tons of action when you hit. Flop bet is questionable but I guess it's ok to buy a free turn (and once in a blue moon you do have the best hand). But if you're putting any more bets in the pot you need to bet the turn. You just gave 5 people a free chance to outdraw you on the river. And the river bet is bad. They will look you up with pp's, Kx, 9x and maybe 7x. Hand 2: Hand is played fine until the river (though I wouldn't raise 77 utg in a full ring live game). But the river bet is complete spew. You shouldn't be patting yourself on the back for a good fold, because you cost yourself a BB by betting. You said: "Hmm. He checks. I think he wouldn’t check-raise on the river if he hit that, so maybe he has KQ, and I bet". If that's true then why bet?? Do you think KQ is calling? The only possibe hands that call are 33-66, and that's unlikely. And it's useless as a bluff because 99+ will look you up. |

I re-read this whole thing last night when I linked it from Scorcho's TR, and I'm shaking my head at those plays. |
