Re: Someone cold-called my 3bet!
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] bet like $310. if he had AQ or AK he'll fold and if he calls he'll either check down every worse hand to the river thinking he has showdown vs your AK or he'll have you crushed so you can fold the turn. [/ QUOTE ] if hes good and observant I don't think this works, but I sort of like this line against a weaker player [/ QUOTE ] obviously against a tricky players this is giving away $300 but i think most regulars aren't looking to do crazy stuff in this spot [/ QUOTE ] the players who aren't looking to do tricky stuff have JJ+ every time. [/ QUOTE ] guess we just have different experiences/data because I see 88/99 and AQ here a lot from non-tricky opponents |

[/ QUOTE ] What's the point of betting if he has AK/AQ or a worse pair? He has 3 outs at best and we're not in good shape vs his range.... |

Re: Someone cold-called my 3bet!
Not particularly advocating this, but a lot of villains, if they play like 2+2 players say they play, will bet-fold JJ here to your c-rai.
Edit - originally had that JJ-QQ, but nah. |

[/ QUOTE ] JJ will also often fold to a flop bet and turn push. Sometimes even QQ because the cold-call PF is obviously a strong hand. You end up risking the same with both lines just a matter of what looks stronger. You can also muck to an all-in bet with this line, if you are planning on CR bluffing anyways. |

I'd checkfold. This is JJ+ way more than its anything else. [/ QUOTE ] So whats the point of 3 betting then with a marginal hand? |

Re: Someone cold-called my 3bet!
hence the reason some people enjoy three betting with undominated hands more frequently than ones like this wher etyou can flop tptk and be confused- obviously your range should overlap somewhat into these hands, but if it does you'll often find yourself in fairly confusing situations
