I hope this is not a harbinger of Sklansky & Miller\'s NLHE book
Check out this post by Sklansky in the High Stakes PL/NL forum entitled "Typical Situation Math Problem":
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showth...rue#Post4963600 In it, he describes a "typical situation" at a 25-50 NLHE game, where you have $1000, make it 200 to go with AK, and get raised to 500 straight by someone who has QQ or better. WTF? I hope this short stack situation is NOT "typical" of the examples used in the book. Ed has already covered short stack play pretty well in GSIH. I would prefer seeing something aimed at 100BB capped buy in online games as well as 6max online games, since the majority of all NLHE play occurs in these games. |

This post says it all
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rue#Post4695590 Sklansky has been a frequent guest in the highstakes NL hold'em forum lately, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt based on prior publications |

Speaking of Ray Zee, why isn't he involved in this NLHE project?

WTF? I hope this short stack situation is NOT "typical" of the examples used in the book. [/ QUOTE ] Dude, it's a 300+ page book. Settle down. The whole book isn't about when to push preflop with ace-king. I promise. David is certainly particularly interested in these sorts of scenarios, but that doesn't mean he's writing a book filled with them. [ QUOTE ] I would prefer seeing something aimed at 100BB capped buy in online games as well as 6max online games, since the majority of all NLHE play occurs in these games. [/ QUOTE ] This book is not "aimed" at 6max online games or 100x capped buyin games. It's primarily a theory book. Like TOP. There are plenty of examples, and those examples "typically" feature stacks in the 100-200BB ranges. But this is not a manual for beating online 6max $2000 games and never has been intended to be that. |

I am not sure whether to ask here or in another thread, but do you feel this book works better with TOP or can in stand on its own for NLHE? |

Re: I hope this is not a harbinger of Sklansky & Miller\'s NLHE book
Will this be to NLHE what Small Stakes Hold'em is to Limit, or is HOH still going to be the next step in NL as you suggest in GSIH?
I'm currently studying HOH vol. 1 now, so it isn't like I'm not going to read it, just curious where your new book fits into the progression. |

Re: I hope this is not a harbinger of Sklansky & Miller\'s NLHE book
I find it amazing that an author has to justify his book - absolutely amazing!
Mr. Miller - if you see this could you possibly write a book about me playing $.50/$1 6 seat NL tables - i do not have a big bankroll and do not live in USA, PM me should you need any more background for your book. Thanks (in anticipation) Richard P.S. Above is a joke! (thought i better add this - you never know - some peolpe may think i was serious!) |

Will this be to NLHE what Small Stakes Hold'em is to Limit [/ QUOTE ] Judging by Mr. Miller's post and a little prior information I find it fairly obvious that they're aiming for it to be the no-limit hold'em version of what Theory of Poker is to limit hold'em. |
