33$ Speed: shorty vs shorty
Party Poker
No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t400/t800 (Ante: t25) 4 players Converter Stack sizes: CO: t13665 Hero: t945 SB: t4725 BB: t665 Pre-flop: (3 players) Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] CO calls t800 (pot was t75), Hero calls. I had some controversial discussion which move is the best. I called because I wanted to limit BB's chances to win the hand. SNG Wiz says fold. But is this a situation where ICM is still working, considering the 2 shorties? What would be your move? Thanks in advance Stevens |

Re: 33$ Speed: shorty vs shorty
you really do not want to lose here. if folded to you, it'd be a push. with the big stack putting effectively you all-in, I'd prolly fold and hope that the BB gets knocked out.

Fold. BB probably pot committed next hand. If he survives you can push next hand. Your probably a 60-40 underdog or worse so you don't loose anything by waiting for the next hand.

Re: 33$ Speed: shorty vs shorty
That's an interesting hand. I think you have to call here. If you call, SB calls for sure and now shorty has to survive a 4-way checkdown (most likely). It would be very unlucky to finish 4th in that hand.
If you fold and shorty triples you are all-in on ATC (or at least top 75% UTG) for the next two hands while he can safely fold 3 hands in a row. That is disaster for you. If you fold and shorty loses, you have a huge hill to climb to get from 3rd to 2nd, but can quadruple up if your J2 wins the 4-way giving you a decent stack to work with. |

Re: 33$ Speed: shorty vs shorty
With CO already in, I don't see a need to get involved. I assume he's got a better than average hand, and the fact that he limped makes me wonder. Plus, SB could wake up with a hand, and with a decent sized pot at that point, there's no guarantee that he's going to play along to help hero get into the money.

Re: 33$ Speed: shorty vs shorty
My point is that I don't expect more than getting 3rd and with my call I try to increase the chances of eliminating BB. If BB wins the hand my position is nearly hopeless irrespective of what I'm doing here.

Re: 33$ Speed: shorty vs shorty
Fold. The big stack should push ATC here. He can't fold and try to pawn the bubble. There's a huge stack at his left. He'll do the dirty work.

Re: 33$ Speed: shorty vs shorty
I'm folding. J2o is really crappy hand and SB will probably come along. There are a lot speculative hands I'd limp, but J2o is the absolute crap...
