1/2 live: who takes a shot and who gives up?
live 1/2, 100 max buy in. Effective stacks around 100. Im OTB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 5 limpers in front, I limp too. Flop comes 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Terrible fishy player in EP bets $8, Rocky player calls, I call Turn is 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Early fish checks, Rock bets $10, I call, fish calls. River 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Bad fish checks, rocky fish checks. Who fires and how much, and who lets it go? |

[ QUOTE ]
you became the fish by calling on the turn. fold it [/ QUOTE ] I have a flush and straight draw. Im pretty sure that EP fish has some kind of bad pair and the rock wouldnt bet on the turn with a draw. So theyre both live. Its $10 to call for a 35+ dollar pot, which is absolutely the correct odds to call if I think my draws are good (which i thought they were) plus implied odds from actually hitting the draw. |

I think people are underestimated just how awful live $100max players are. Your draws are pretty live and likely to get paid.
I don't take a shot--rocky fish don't fold, they want to see the suckout so they can bellyache for hours about it--but everything up to that seems reasonable. I don't like steal raising vs. 5 people with 100 behind. |

Re: 1/2 live: who takes a shot and who gives up?
fold>>>>call>>>>>>ra ise preflop. But that's boring, I'm sure limping pre isn't a horrible mistake.
I think postflop play so far is marginal but okay. I think betting river would be awful spew. |

Re: 1/2 live: who takes a shot and who gives up?
wtf... it's a short stacked live game. Limping pf is perfectly fine, and I think raising complete junk with 50BB stacks is a bad idea. Flop, standard. Turn, standard. River, check it down.

Re: 1/2 live: who takes a shot and who gives up?
definite check. you havent repped a good hand and are likely to get called down by a higher pair. if you want to bluff in this spot you need to raise the flop or the turn.
not that i think u played it bad. this is live. it plays differently. you can def call with suited two gappers on the button here. |

Re: 1/2 live: who takes a shot and who gives up?
i dont think limping is ok preflop you get in tons of terrible spots.
i think this should be a fold everytime. you said it yourself, you're shorstacked. if a raise wouldnt be profitable here then that's another reason to fold and wait for a better spot. |
