but afaik Party cash back from the tables at the same rate they cashed you on to the table.

Indeed. Ill at least wait for a new U.S. president before converting.

So do you think its worth taking the 3% hit every time, in the hopes of the euro improving? Would a conversion, and re-conversion along with a systematic approach to cashing out be of more benefit?

converting your account to your home currency shows the advantage of being independent from further exchangerate fluctuations. if, like in my case the euro, however, is expected to rise within the next year or so, you might lose a significant amount.

[/ QUOTE ]

Doesnt the 3% fee Party inflict on every cash out negate the advantages of waiting to see if the euro improves though?

And yes, Party do charge for an account conversion. If you do the steps to convert, you will see their rate is different than xe.com etc - the same as when cashing out.

EDIT: Also, when bringing money from your roll to the table, Party calculate the amount based on standard currency rates at the time, if your roll is in your home currency. So if your bankroll is in euro, and you want to bring $400 to the table, they charge your roll whatever the standard rate is. So essentially as the euro improves, you have to bring less euro to the tables - so if you convert your roll to home currency early, you have the best of both right?

EDIT EDIT: Just realised that the above is stupid - obviously you have to bring $$$ from the tables back into your roll which would also be charged standard rate thus neutralising the advantage Unless the rate improves while you are playing, but afaik Party cash back from the tables at the same rate they cashed you on to the table.

[/ QUOTE ]

cian this is wrong. the rate they give you when converting your account, while not a fair market rate, is a couple of points better than the rate they give you for withdrawals.

edit: ah you did mention the 3% fee, so i guess that is what the difference is
