A high stakes cash game takes place and what do people want to discuss? Whether finland is part of Scandanavia or not. Jesus fun-loving Christ!

Show me how Finland is on the Scandinavian peninsula, please.

[/ QUOTE ]

1) From the same wiki:

Geographically the Scandinavian Peninsula includes what is today mainland Sweden and mainland Norway. A small part of north-western Finland is sometimes also considered part of the peninsula.

2) Now you show me how Denmark is on the Scandinavian peninsula, please. Or are you saying that Denmark is not in scandinavia?

Something to lighten the mood of this Finland-Sweden matchup.

Apparently finnish players are not the greatest discrepancy on this Scandinavian night, if Lithuania-born aussie is playing there too.

Why does TG talk about this like it's a tourney? "Illari is the leader?" WTF?
Is it a tourney or a cash game.

Look here sunnyboy. As stated previously above this is a hybrid of cashgame in a cup structure. 2 players from each heat advances to the finals which has $500k added from sponsers. So there for I see nothing wrong with Tony using the word "leader" in descibing Ilari´s current position.

Also,
Im from Denmark and has always thought Finland was part of Scandinavia

Well. I'm from Sweden and I don't care about an exact definition about Scandinavia. They used that name for the tournament cause it made most sense and people knows about it.

If Meteteron and (other) americans have problems with it thats their problem. They probably don't know that Finland was a part of Sweden for 200 years ago and that we are closely connected since then in many ways.

Maybe like the Iraqis will be with the yanks in 200 years, just kidding.

Some of the biggest names in European poker will play in Scandinavian Poker Masters, including Patrick Antonius, Tony "G" Gouga, Martin De Knijff, Per Hildebrand, Ilari Sahamies, Juha Helppi and David "The Devilfish" Ulliot.

However, before the main game can begin the 12 Internet qualifiers will first battle it out in two semifinals where the winner of each semifinal will win a place and the buy-in to the finals.

The main game is a cash game with a $15 ante and $100-$200 blinds. The minimum buy-in is $50,000. The players will slug it out for 9 hours; huge sums are expected to change hands. The show is scheduled to air in Sweden later this fall.

Does anybody have any news on how the internet qualifiers performed?

Did they get busted? Did they hold their own?

Would be interested to find out.

Thanks in advance.
