As far I can tell, there is a lot more luck in poker than in StarCraft or whatever you dorks are talking about. Being a big winner over 50K hands is nothing. Noataima has won big over 50K hands. [/ QUOTE ] i wouldnt say nothing just a bit of an understatement |

Re: Official Stars Regulars Thread *DELETED*
i highly doubt a losing player can typically have swings where he would be be winning at 10ptbb/100 over 50k hands then while playing the exact same as he did before (not tilting, playing A game) be losing
sure it *may* be possible but very very very rare, but to say it means nothing is just BS anyways... |

[/ QUOTE ] Part of the problem is there are basically no vocal losing players, so its hard to know whats possible. |

It has nothing to do with luck, and everything to do with reasons for selecting certain opponents in poker as opposed to SC.

There are always a number of competing reasons for selecting one's opponents, in both poker and Starcraft. The two goals which are often in opposition are: 1.) Win [games / ladders / tournaments in Starcraft, money in poker.] 2.) Improve as a player. Generally you'll want to play the weakest opposition possible if you're focused on winning, and either equivalent or slightly superior opponents if you're focused on improving. Are you claiming that there's a fundamental difference between the two games in terms of opponent selection? |

As you want to practice vs tougher and tougher players it gets more expensive in poker. |
