25NL - EP QQ facing reraise
This hand is a specific example of a situation that I find problematic (its kind of basic, but I really don't know what to do in these spots). Against an unknown villain, with deep stacks (>100BB) what line do you take if your early position JJ/QQ is reraised preflop? Rereraise? Call for set value and checkfold a missed flop. What kind of range do you put the villain on here? Maybe AK-AQ, AA-JJ or is that too tight?

Re: 25NL - EP QQ facing reraise
tought spot, your three bet range is probably pretty close, maybe TT+ but still then your only beating it and JJ so folding cant be terrible here
i think i bet fold the turn though |

Re: 25NL - EP QQ facing reraise
Annoying spot, I'm not too worried about AK or AQ double barreling here though. The problem is that a typical NL25 villain will play AA and 99 exactly the same way on this board. Its the "zomg overpair=nuts" line that many NL25 players have. Calling for set value and check/folding the flop is far too weak IMO. As played calling on the turn basically commits you to calling most rivers. His turn bet is only 1/2 pot which is a little strange.
I'd consider 4betting preflop to ~7.5 and obviously fold to a shove. At least you will most likely know where you are at after that move. |
