Re: stars hu .50/1 is it beatable with the rake?
definitely No for almost any player over a large sample.
my suggestion to almost all players here is to stay away from Heads Up CG below 3/6 (or maybe 2/4) unless you have like 40%+ RB. Except for a few hands from time to time just for fun and to get some variation. EDIT: Saw now the question was applied to FL, my reply was assuming we was talking about NL. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Heads-Up: rake will be collected on "1-on-1" tables at a rate of $0.05 rake per $1.00 in the pot, up to a maximum of $0.50 rake per hand. [/ QUOTE ] Hmmm. Let's say 70% of hands hit the flop, and an average pot size of 4 BB. That's 0.20 lost every hand that's raked, or an average of $0.14/hand. That works out to be a whopping 14 BB/100 in rake. I'm going to put my vote in the "no" column. [/ QUOTE ] - you're not paying the rake by yourself. using your calcs it's actually 7bb/100. - you can't just avg pot sizes because of the rake cap. a 2bb pot gets rake $.20 and a 6bb pot gets raked $.50, avg pot size is 4bb but avg rake is lower than $.40. - I'm paying $.14/hand at 10/20 --- it's got to be much lower at .5/1. if anyone wants a prop on whether or not I can beat it over 5k or 10k hands I'll take even money. |

Re: stars hu .50/1 is it beatable with the rake?
Yeah, you're right about 14 BB/100 vs 7 BB/100. Oops. I'll forgive myself for not accounting for the capped rake in my back-of-the-envelope estimation, but not dividing by two there is pretty serious. The last numbers I saw for Stars 0.50/1 full ring showed the rake at like 3 BB/100 out of your win rate, and that game has been beatable for 3 BB/100 or so after the rake, although I'm not so sure now. I'd still estimate that the rake would be about 5-6 BB/100 for HU here. If you're good, you might be able to beat that HU, but it's still pretty tough. Your even money line is a pretty good one for most people on here, but I probably wouldn't take it with you.

[/ QUOTE ] 200nl is very beatable. If you're leveling then it's bad, but 200nl as well as 100nl are both very beatable. There are better games than 50nl to be playing HU, most likely sngs would be a better option, but it is definitely still very beatable. |

Re: stars hu .50/1 is it beatable with the rake?
Now that the .50/1.00 HU limit tables have been around for a little while on Stars, does anybody have any decent stats for it (bb/100 and rake/hand)?
I played a few sessions last night and came out ahead, but it was clear that the real winner was the rake. |
