Can I get a ruling on short-sleeve button-down shirts (not polos) in both a casual and an office setting?

I'm of the opinion that they're about the tackiest piece of clothing that passes as acceptable. They look retarded and there's no excuse why one couldn't have worn the normal version

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed.

Also, I like the plaid shorts + long-sleeved button down with rolled-up sleeves look. But it is certainly very frat. If I met a 28 year old guy at a bar rocking this I would assume his life peaked sophomore year.

Short sleeve shirts with a tie.

At least 2 people have said this so far, and I disagree. A lot of people can pull this look off, and a lot of people cannot. It works in a rock club or party setting and I see it a lot in L.A. Also if you sing for Green Day, it looks awesome:

It works in this context, yes. Somehow. But way too many people rep the office space look.

Also, what are people's opinions on kinda plain/kinda artsy t-shirts?

[/ QUOTE ]

A shirt like this + good looking jeans on a hot guy looks awesome. Works particularly well on a guy with a nice, but smaller build.

Also, what are people's opinions on kinda plain/kinda artsy t-shirts? I think they're mainly targeted for skaters (not sure though) even though I'm not a skater at all. I'm thinking of buying some shirts such as these:

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not a huge fan of T-shirts in general, but I don't think these look bad on younger guys. If you're over like 28 and wearing them though, lol.

I dont like those arts tshirts, they are the new "distressed" hats, or whatever lame fashion thing everyone and their brother does nowadays.

All,

Tons of people obviously disagree with me on this, since it is has been a super popular fashion for many years, but I think all golf/polo shirts suck.

I'm referring to the general class of shirts that have a collar and a few buttons. Mostly seen in short-sleeve, but I think the long-sleeve versions suck too. Generally some sort of knit cotton fabric.

[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, but then I hate anything that looks "preppy". Polo shirts look ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure that a decent percentage of OOT would think I looked like a douchebag because of my fashion choices. Note: I'm a 22 year old student.

I wear jeans shorts a lot, though I am swaying more and more toward just wearing jeans. I wear short sleeve button up shirts (the more casual kind, not the dressy kind).

I wear a white undershirt underneath a shirt like this and it shows a little bit, like in klumpy's picture. I also just wear regular old tee shirts sometimes.

As I move toward the idea of becoming a high school teacher, I slowly am adapting toward something that is khaki and a long sleeve button up shirt.

Simply put, I'm transitioning from the 'student' look to the 'adult' look. However, I am still a student taking classes, so I'm not going to wear khakis every day quite yet.

Note: For some reason I chuckle at the idea of Blarg wearing knee highs. Standard.

I grew up wearing knee high socks playing basketball and soccer. Still seems natural to me.

If you're making statements like these, you probably shouldn't be posting in this thread.
