Re: step 1 build big pot against aggressive player step 2 fold
HOWMANY,
I was there and I still didn't really understand why you bet the river. Do you think you're missing value if you don't? Of course, you basically owned me the entire time, so feel free to ignore this. |

LHE101 (not talking about 102 or advance levels)states that nobody ever checks twice with any kind of hand on a 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] boards. Your check raise on the turn should be a commitment to a showdown if black 2 hits the river, it did so just show it down.

Re: step 1 build big pot against aggressive player step 2 fold
I really like the turn line here. It's very creative and it really makes a semi knowledgeable player very suspicious of your holding, which will generate a lot of action, which is what I think you were trying to do.
That being said, your river action contradicts everything you were trying to accomplish, which was to significanly underrepresent your hand and try to get her to spew to you (I think, maybe I'm wrong). I would showdown here. I would do so by probably check calling the river. |

"at the very least probably knows that I know she's not retarded."
she's not particularly solid though and she definitely is not very aggressive. she definitely beats the easier games though for plenty so not retarded is right i guess. you played this hand expertly against her and your thinking is exactly the same as mine as to what she has at each point of aggression. but if im thinking of the right player which i think i am, my read might have been once she whiffs the flop she's too likely to check through the turn as well. |

Re: step 1 build big pot against aggressive player step 2 fold
These weird turn crs induce 3-bet free showdowns so I dont mind your river bet assuming you can fold to a raise. Since your read is that she is not retarded the river is an easy fold. You have done nothing but tell her you are showing down your hand. I dont hate your turn cr since she should be betting here alot of the time after you check twice. She might actually fold AK which would be nice and might call down w/ a pp which would be really nice. I would probably end up betting fearing the turn check through when she has AK.

Re: step 1 build big pot against aggressive player step 2 fold
PF/F/T are all good, river I don't see why you'd b/f rather than c/c. She's obviously not the type that'd go insane with "nothing" as she'd have bet the flop.

Re: step 1 build big pot against aggressive player step 2 fold
If you bet the river do you plan on folding to a river raise?

Re: step 1 build big pot against aggressive player step 2 fold
Bet the turn. C/R is too fancy. Probably call down if raised. Be prepared to be shown a monster though. 3 bet, check flop is pretty strong. Did you have the Jh?
