Default hypthetical Preflop Question

suppose its capped to you on the BB and you hold QJs.
If you call its going to be at least 5way.
Do you consider calling?

you are likely dominated 3 ways from sunday, plus people are probably some of your straight cards, and your flush might not even be good --> fold

~ 6:1 odds, no more raises possible, great implied odds. To juicy for me, I'm in.

I don't know about great implied odds. Sure you get paid off when you hit a monster, but too often you're the one paying off with top pair and a backdoor something draw after the flop. I fold.

I call. It can't matter much either way, as it's fairly close and this situation hasn't happened to me in 40,000 hands.

Insta fold. Your implied odds are crap, you're going to be putting in at least two bets on the flop. Out of position, and your hand sucks anyways.

Right. Your implied odds are future bets earned / initial investment. Your future bets earned will be about the same when you hit your hand. However, the initial investment goes up since you're putting in 3 small bets preflop. This alone makes your implied odds almost 3 times smaller than they would have been had you only invested 1 bet. It's even worse when you consider you might flop some draw and have to put in 2 or 3 bets because the pot odds are so high at that point.
