Commission charge on ETF trades?
On the Vanguard website under the "Who Should Not Invest" page of ETF's, it says "Investors planning to make regular contributions or withdrawals. (For these investors, ETFs may not be as cost-effective as conventional fund shares because each ETF transaction incurs a commission charge.)
Does that include people trading from zecco? Where does this charge show up and how much is it? |

Re: Commission charge on ETF trades?
No you don't pay anything trading from zecco. You get charged like 25$ per trade if you do it on vanguards website.

Re: Commission charge on ETF trades?
The commission charge is the amount you pay a brokerage when you buy or sell a stock/ETF. At Zecco, commissions are $0. Therefore, you don't have to worry about commissions when you trade at Zecco.
When investing small sums of money, commissions can certainly eat into your principle. For instance, if you pay $10 to buy an ETF and you invest $100 per month, then you'll end up paying 10% up front just to invest. If you're investing larger amounts relative to the commissions, then you don't have to worry about it as much. $10 is only 0.1% of $10,000, and $0 is 0% of any amount. |
