So the OP's position is that information he learned is more +EV than keeping the donkey from tightening up. Interesting theory.....

I don't understand why the dealer flipped over the mucked hand?

[/ QUOTE ]

It is a rule that is valuable if the person is cheating (by collusion or adding cards). The OP had no reason to think the person was cheating... he just wanted to be a dick and think the rule exists so he could get free information. Obviously, OP is a dick.

Most casinos have the rule.... but they also step in when someone is abusing it.

Meh I think it is a joke post. OP has been here for three years; I seriously doubt that he didn't think he'd get flamed to hell for posting this.

sorry no this doesn't make OP a scumbag.

I don't approve of it and i've never asked to see someone's cards at SD, but let's not get carried away.

"By sticking to the rules, you're just trying to use access to all the information possible". Does the weight of having more information on certain players outweigh the possibility of getting in more hands/hours against those same fish if they take it personally?

You should not have to showdown your if you think you are beat and should not be obligated to show even when asked by another player or even dealer. I think that's how it should be everywhere.

[/ QUOTE ]

This thread reminds me of another one where the OP thought everyone would agree with him or congratulate him...something about a boss that he thought was real sexy....now if only I can remember who started that thread......

CC,

slowrolling online is mostly impossible. slowrolling live is a huge angle shot that tilts people. while tilting people is +EV at the time, it can be -EV in the long run - being unpleasant to play with is not good for your table image.

now to get in on the bandwagon rape - OP, you suck. I hope when you play live, everyone asks to see your cards at showdown.

[/ QUOTE ]

The thing is, i'm totally surprised the dealer showed the hand even with the collusion/cheating aspect.

My point wasn't that what OP did was OK, it was that he clearly didn't know any better and viewed it as checking a hand history to see what a player mucked. Sure he deserves some chastising but not a bandwagon rape. All this stuff about trying to embarrass a fish and tilt him is just absurd.

I see nothing out of the ordinary in the play of this hand. Bad players do this sort of crap quite often.

[ QUOTE ]
So I say, "dealer, I want to see that hand".

[/ QUOTE ]

Terrible form I would say to ask to see the losing hand when you played no part in the hand.

I made no criticizing comments on his play. The reason why I did it is because he had been raising me on every low flop when I was the PFR and I wanted to know if he range there was any pair/any draw, or if it was ATC. I had no intention of making him look like a complete monkey, though that's what happened in the end.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is all irrelevant and none of it justifies a blatant breach of etiquette.
