Default Re: What\'s With Avatar Restriction on Stars?

[ QUOTE ]
Basically, we have to screen every avatar before it's posted, and if there was no restriction, people would be changing on a daily basis. We have to screen them because I guess people every day think that they are the first ones to think of putting some naked woman or porno shot as their avatar. We reject many many avatars per day (as well as user IDs) - I just scrolled through the last 100 submitted and found one image and two user IDs that I rejected.

If you simply want to change it one more time, as stated elsewhere, just email support. As long as you don't abuse the privilege, you'll be granted one additional change each time. Although there is no set rule, a good rule of thumb would be that abusing the privilege would be multiple changes per month, or once you get past about 5 changes overall.

Thanks for the response. I think this sounds pretty reasonable, but was given a different answer in response to my email:

Thank you for your email.

One of the ideas behind images at PokerStars is that they will help identify you to other players at the table (similar to User ID). If we allow for constant changes, it will take away from this idea.

We understand that when a player first selects their image, they might not give it much thought. This is why we allow one change. However, in this case we can make an exception. I have updated your account privileges so you may change your image one more time.

Regards,

It would seem slightly strange to me to disallow changes in order to help other players. Isn't that what notes are for? It's obviously not a very big deal overall, but I guess I'm just picky in that I like the ability to change it now and then. I don't know if it's superstition or what, but I thought I'd bring the issue up. So chalk me up as a vote for being a bit more liberal with that rule.

But obviously they let me make my change, so I'm good for quite some time anyways. Thanks again.
