I just remembered Equilibrium with Christian Bale and Tae Diggs. It was set in a dystopian future where people were drugged up at all times and no art or historical artifacts were allowed because otherwise people would 'feel' and then that would just lead to anarchy.

Yeah, while I don't feel this is the worst movie ever, I am defintiely in the camp that it is highly overrated. Oh! Japan is weird if you're a lonely American! Okay, got it! Now what?

[/ QUOTE ]

No you didn't.

Well, I'm convinced! Thanks for setting me straight!

I nominate The Matrix 2. I loved The Matrix. The Matrix 2 discouraged me from seeing the third movie. Haven't seen it yet; won't.

There are definitely crappier movies, but this one's up there because of how great the first movie was and how far it sidestepped from my expectations.

Ok I'll elaborate. You're looking for an allegory in the movie where there is none. Your synopsis of the story is a gross simplification. It's not just a fish out of water story. It's about two people, who under normal circumstances would not have anything to do with each other, finding companionship.

Saying you didn't like it is one thing, but claiming it's the worst movie you ever saw leads to me conclude either you've only seen a handful of movies or your taste in movies is awful.

3. Lethal Weapon 4
2. Beverly Hills Cop 3
1. Uncle Rico throwing footballs is pretty much the worst video ever made.

For that reason, the worse movie of all time is...

Caddyshack 2.

I was wondering how long it would take this awful thread to converge on the real answer.

That's my fiancee's favorite movie.

My gf made me watch Better Off Dead with her. Why has this pos not been listed yet?

[/ QUOTE ]

It hasn't been listed because it's a terribly wrong answer.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah. Or maybe because it's probably the greatest 80's comedy. Hilarious, surreal, and incredibly original. And it still holds up. Probably one of my favourite comedies ever.

[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, I just thought it sucked. Also, please explain how it 'still holds up'.

Another one just came to mind. Jaws 3. Need I say more?

You're sense of humor must be broken. The fact that it "holds up" is evidenced by the number of people in this thread that got pissed at your suggestion that it sucks.
