Only a few hands into the table, haven't been involved yet, maybe 1 raise and taking the blinds i think. Never seen villain before.

I like betting the turn an identical amount that the villain bet on the flop. For one, you control the pot size, and possibly get a free showdown on the river. But you make him pay to continue drawing to his hand. How many times have you seen a ck ck, ck ck and villain has 8x7d or what not and you lose the pot.

In this hand you are not trying to make him fold a better hand than yours. After his check on the turn you are pretty sure that you have the best hand, lots of his raising hands miss that board.

Now if he check raises you on the turn, you can decide then but probably muck. Most likely course of action is that he calls your bet on turn and (even if he makes his hand) checks on the river to you.

I'd 1/2PS it to block a riverbet.

I think the turn decision is totally dependent on how likely it is that you have the best hand, e.g will you be calling if he c/r. I think if you plan on folding to c/r just check behind, and pray for harmless river. I think the only real reason to bet here is to induce a shove because we believe we are ahead. On balance I probably just check behind and pray for non diamond river. If he has you now and is trapping, youll probably call a bet of roughly the same size if a harmless river card comes and you have the advatnage of seeing how the hand played out. On balance, I probably check
