When a good player calls your 3 bet from the button and an overcard flops, what is the line?

Check-call and check-fold seem wrong on the flop, so I felt I had to bet, but then I feel like he can push me off a hand.

Is this just standard, and I just have to check the turn to him with AK, AA and sets?

most solid aggro players will bet air/AK+ and check behind 88-JJ so you can then value bet the turn.
