Default 10/20 WPEX Turn check multiway

4 handed 10/20 game.
Bad laggy player opens, I decide to 3 bet Jd Td on the button, sb folds, bb calls.
Both players play bad and will go too far with hands postflop as well as get too aggressive.

Flop Qd 4h 5c

Checks to me, I bet and am called by both.

Turn Jh

Checks to me again and I check?

I figured both of these guys are capable of check raising lots of hands that I beat and that beat me. So I felt it was a relatively wa/wb as they likely held a queen or another hand that beats me or had 5 or less outs.

Bet the turn. Youre ahead very often and you dont want to give free cards in a pot this size. I dont worry about getting c/red here because when they do c/r its a draw more often than a made hand because a made hand should be putting in action on the flop. I would consider folding to a c/r in a protected pot though.

So you bet and call check raise and call any river? These players are bad but will not call the turn bet with hopeless hands. So what hands are you trying to get value from?

What are your plans for river action if called by one or both on the turn?

AT,KT,A5,A3,99, who knows. It doesnt matter if they wont call the turn with hopeless hands, If you bet and they fold 2 outs, its better than giving them infinite pot odds to hit those 2 outs by checking. The point is that giving a free card is not a good play, especially in a pot this size. If I get called by 1 player and he checks the river, Im betting most rivers. I check an A or K.

So you get CR and you are calling down unless its protected pot?

against those players I check turn to induce a riverbluff. If theres a bet and raise on river you can fold.

Seether,
gosh this is a pretty easy spot to play if youu know their hand ranges (and you seem to have a pretty good handle on how they play). Just stove it and if you have a decent equity edge, as i suspect is the case here, go ahead and bet. You're smart enough to figure out the right play when they c/r (which is usually call, obv).

no offense but imo checking the turn cuz it makes the rest of the hand simpler to play is very mediocre poker.

You don't check because it's the easiest way to play, you check for value. Not inducing bluffs from very agressive players and only play as stove tells you is whats mediocre. And after bet/calling against 2 players on turn you pretty much must call river and thats not a good play with 2:d pair.

I suggest you study the concept of valuechecking on turn vmacosta.
