Re: Raise for value on the river or get to show down cheaply?
Interesting hand.
By the way you should try to provide some kind of reads, but I also know that a lot of players are very loose at this level. I like your flop bet. When MP raises your turn bet, it looks like he has made a flush. A check raise on the river may have been better than leading out. I very much doubt that MP has a 6. Anyway, I think that you played this hand ok, but I would probably have 3-bet the river. LOL, just noticed your title for this thread. (Sorry, bit drunk) I 3 bet the river. |

Hand is fine. Call river without a read that your opponent is dumb enough not to know what a full house is.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm very tempted to 3-bet this river. edited to add: we have really not given villain information that we flopped trips--for all he knows we could have like A5,66-JJ... (not like he is really reading anything other than his hand.) i.e. this is like never a 6. I would be less surprised to see the case 4. |

Re: Raise for value on the river or get to show down cheaply?
I can't remember the last time I saw someone raise anything other than a boat or a bluff on a double paired board. It's right up there with 4straight and 4flush boards in terms of keeping people from overplaying their hands.

What happened to BTN? Anyway I like the flop lead, I like turn. River is read dependent. If villain is a rational human beeing, call the raise. If he is an 'I have a flush and I'm gonna cap no matter what'- type of player u have my blessing to 3-bet.

Re: Raise for value on the river or get to show down cheaply?
Well, I just started trying this online poker as Im a regular small/medium stakes limit player live, so Im still not 100% sure about what is normally used from pokertracker data for a read. However the villain in this hand has stats as follows over 52hands
Vol put in pot = 88.46% Vol from sb = 100% saw flop 51 of 52 times preflop raise = 0% won $ at showdown. |
