Top pair medium kicker, facing flop raise
Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)
SB: $107.70 BB: $65.55 Hero (UTG): $99.35 MP: $101.50 CO: $107.60 BTN: $156.90 Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) Hero raises to $3.00, 2 folds, BTN calls $3.00, 2 folds Flop: ($7.50) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $5.00, BTN raises to $15.00 Pot Size: $27.50 Table has been aggressive pre-flop and passive after flop. Villain has been pretty LAG playing over 40% of pots and raising 25%. I have been 30%/16%. My question comes to proceed in this hand OOP on the following streets. If I were to call, how would you play on turn and river? Is 3-betting flop a possibility? This is not a hand I planned to play a big pot with. |

Re: Top piar medium kicker, facing flop raise
3-betting flop is spew.
I usually fold this the first time and make a note, if he continues to play back at you then maybe make a stand but with the J kicker I'd just dump it here. |

Re: Top pair medium kicker, facing flop raise
No, 3 betting the flop is not a possibility without a good read and is just spew in all likelihood. I fold here, but if you do call the turn is an easy C/F.
