Acceptable Blinds Steal??
At this point, my read on villain was that he was pretty tight. I'd only seen him play about 10 hands, but he'd only VP$P once in those ten hands. So I did what any respectable n00b would do and popped him:
Full Tilt 0.25/0.5 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Preflop: Hero is SB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 7 folds, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, Hero calls. Flop: (7.40 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, BB bets, Hero folds. Final Pot: 3.70 BB Didn't work out like I wanted, but.. Do you think this is acceptable, or is 75s still way to weak? Also, what do you think about me calling his 3-bet? I JUST got done reading a section in SSHE where it says not to raise/fold very often on the same street or even some of your unobservant opponents will start to take shots at you, so I thought I'd peel one and just fold to anything less than a flush. Thoughts? Nick |

Re: Acceptable Blinds Steal??
it's good enough, your investing 0.35 to win 0.4 it only has to work about 50% of the time and the playabilitly of this hand is also great...
i also would call the flop bet you are already getting 1:7.5 + implied odds it's an easy call with the GS in a HU situation... |

I like it too, just not every single time. Because then they begin to pick up on it and call. But I like seeing this play every now and again.

Re: Acceptable Blinds Steal??
yeah, before I do it with 7 hi, I like to have a few more hands on him and preferrably some kind of read.
I'd peel this flop. |

[ QUOTE ]
Also, what do you think about me calling his 3-bet? [/ QUOTE ] If Villain's range is exactly 77, you are getting about even money on you call. If his range is anything wider than that, calling the 3-bet is profitable. On the flop, I'd call. I think you'll make up more than 1BB on average if you hit your straight. |
