AKo heads up
This one is from my most recent review session. My reviewer said I did a good job here, but that may just be outcome-oriented thinking. On flop donks like these, I have a hard time deciding the best plan.
No particular reads. Villain did not seem like a maniac or anything. I don't get it? If you want to call down, it's not looking as good after you get 3bet on the flop.

Re: AKo heads up
I would just call down from the flop, though if you add a coldcaller or two I like raising to get it HU. Your overs are nearly always good so combined with the gutshot you have too much equity to fold anywhere.

Re: AKo heads up
Meh - if you told me he's capable of stabbing at pots, I like a flop raise more. As played, it looks like you outdrew a pocket pair or something.
You have to realize that when you raise the flop on this board, almost anything will call with two overs. It would usually be better to play the "get to showdown" game, especially if villain will continue to bet worse Ax hands than yours and make himself pay for the chance at drawing to 3 outs. |

[ QUOTE ] Your overs are nearly always good [/ QUOTE ] Why do you say this, Xhad? [/ QUOTE ] AA and KK might not cap preflop but they usually don't donk the flop when they play that way. It's unlikely that a 533 flop hit a PFR. Most of the time, when he donks the flop it's ace-high or a pocket pair, then once he 3bets the flop his range is something like 77-JJ. |

Re: AKo heads up
:g:
I dont really see this as a weak donk given vil raised pf. This is very much unlike the isoraise -> getting donked by an agressive opponent so often you will see something like 88,99,TT. Call flop, call turn, I would not call river UI without a very specific read. |

Re: AKo heads up
not a super standard line... but sometimes I'll just call the flop and raise the turn.
