Gilbert's conclusion is that his PFIC model for tournament EV is theoretically and empirically most accurate. According to that model, if you are a 10% ROI player in a 10 man tournament, you need 56% equity in order to accept a double up or bust bet. That doesn't even take into account that you always are offered better than double up or bust, because there will always be dead money in the pot (almost always a few bets before the all-in, but always blinds). |
