hypothetical hypothetical baseball question:
you wouldn't be referring to bunting Luis Castillo even though he's doing ridiculously well and any single will score Jose Reyes, would you? Pros of Castillo hitting a guy with an ERA above 5: - extra base hit (= run + RISP) - single (= run) - ground ball to right side (= sac bunt) - fly ball (= sac bunt) cons: - ground ball, left side (= out + maybe reyes can make it since hes like flash gordon = sac bunt, maybe...) - ground ball pitcher (= out) - K (= out) and even this isn't bad, after having 2 strikes, let reyes steal 3rd. my observation: let him swing away, willie.
