Re: 6.50 is this a push
It depends there calling range. If they are calling with tight requirements yes, if they are calling with looser requirements no.
I ran it using the 1,2,3,4 hand ranges...the first two were shove +EV, the second to was -EV. Have you shoved on the button before this hand, or was this the first time? |

Re: 6.50 is this a push
Many factors here. Putting the hand in a bubble and ignoring everything except that you haven't pushed like this yet, then the push should be +EV.
However, there are a couple factors to think about. If you push here, you increase your chances of being called later. You still have enough chips that you can wait and push at the 200/100 level and get respect. If you start pushing now, your chances of success later will go down. I would be wary of pushing so soon, there should be better times later. Are they aggressively going after you? If they are aggressively attacking your big blind every time, then you will want to push here and take your shot so that you don't fall too far behind. If there is a decent possibility of getting a freebie in the BB, then tend to fold more in this spot. A big factor is whether or not the other guys are attacking each other. Most of the time in 6.50 games, the big stacks will attack each other even when they should be focusing on you only. If they aggressively play against each other, then you should fold and let one of them bust out first. |

I don't like it, we've still got enough time to wait for a better spot. I like this a lot more if we're at 100/200/25

Re: 6.50 is this a push
reads really helpful in this spot here, but i'd normally push.
ace_ren, your first point is one thing to take into account, but i think you have more fold equity in future if you push now (and win), because you have a bigger stack. your second point is also relevant, but only make a small difference to me given the stack sizes. |

In a $6.50 putting unknown villians on correct ranges consistently is near impossible. OP Fold and find a better spot. |

The only problem is that he really doesn't have a good spot and I think this is the few cases where he has to take a -EV push (however not now) so that he's not back where he started from, so either pick up a decent-monster hand or just gamble. |
