correct amount to bet?
On the flop and turn in NLHE most bets are made as a percentage of the pot. in the range of 1/3 to the 1/1 of the pot.
If I make a small bet its usually seen as a value bet and if I bet to much its often seen as a scare bet. My question is where is the middle point? I feel its somewhere in the neighborhood of 75-80% of the pot. I could pose the question another way as such; on the flop and turn if you were only ever allowed to bet the same percentage for the next 5 hours of play what would that percentage be? |

Re: correct amount to bet?
I never have a fixed amount because texture of the board matters as does context of the hand (how many people in, what's your position, who was pfr), do I want to build the pot or control the size etc etc
speaking very generically if I was pfr and had position against one caller, a dry flop was checked to me and I make my c-bet I probably bet 2/3 to 3/4 I almost stopped writing and deciding against replying at all because everything's situation based...I suggest to keep reading the boards and looking at HH's that have been posted (feedback that is posted often has commentary on bet sizing)...you can also post your own histories with specific situations and you'll certainly hear back from people |
