Raise 3rd, make sure the bring-in stays away. Also, if he's the LAG type you describe I see him 3-betting with one pair enough of the time to make me want to cap 5th.

I'd raise third street - he will figure you for lighter than if you raised in a full game and you may get more action overall. I tend to play more aggro shorthanded since they won't give you credit for a hand anyway. The way you played it, I pretty much know exactly what you have and can play accordingly - you cost yourself the max if behind and win the min if ahead bc he might be able to get away from one pair.

I think you are right about raising 3rd and caping 5th. The player was playing so Laggy that I was thinking I would just let him bet my hand for me on the early streets but I should have been more agressive on 3rd and 4th and gotten him to play back at me which he likely would have done with any pair 99+

Looking back, you are right the play is very transparent for a good player - fortunatly this person didnt play well or even seem to think about his opponents hands but you make a very good point that I will have to keep in mind for the future as I try to move up and play against tougher opponents.
