Default Top Pair in Unraised Pot.... Any Good Lines???

I think this happens a lot in loose games...

Looking for potential lines to take

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($11.25)
BB ($14)
UTG ($7.50)
MP ($7.15)
Button ($14)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.10, 1 fold, Button calls $0.10, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($0.40) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)

I always lead out. Make it like 3/4 pot. You can probably fold to a raise from UTG, maybe from button as well.

you can donk out here and see what develops. or chk, see what develops with the main intent being a call (a bet and a raise and you should be gone though, even bet call is too laden with rio to think too much about.)

I might get some flack for the second option, but it's good if you play at a lot of orphan pots on the turn -- you gotta have it sometimes. I prefer to play a small pot with this hand, and you can get a lot of value out of btn's that auto bet this when it gets around to them after a limped pot. Chk-call, bet when it goes hu on turn is a good small ball way of playing the hand.

Of course, reads, turn card, and a ton of other stuff change this a dozen ways.

All in all, I think a donk is probably better here because of the straight draws.

Oh, and be really wary of a J on the turn. You might have top two at that point, but it completes more than just the open ender (KQ will call this flop and is calling your donk.)

bet again. .75 I'd say. It sure would be nice to know what kind of players we're up against. Passive, aggro, nit, slow-player...

it's b/f, too. He's not raising anything we beat.
