Backer
Yeah, I live out in LA and am looking for a tournament backer for bigger buy-in events ($1000 and up). Any advice on finding one?

Re: Backer
Not sure the ban comment is necessary. I'm not on here to beg for money. I keep hearing about people having horses in different events and so I'm wanting to know how to be a horse for someone. It's a genuine question not a beg post.

Re: Backer
play tourneys and if your good enough someone will approach you. But if you are really good enough you won't need the backers.

Re: Backer
Good social skills is the number one asset of a man looking for a backer. Talk about yourself, talk about your game, and prove that you are, indeed a good poker player. Mention wanting to play bigger, but not wanting to take the risk. Talk about how winning $50 daily tournies pays enough for your expenses, but you just can't seem to save up enough to afford bigger buy in tournies. Eventually, someone who believes that you are good (because you are winning all those $50 dailies that he plays with you) will approach you. At least... that's the theory.

Re: Backer
oh, and I love it when a poster who's been on here for 5 months and has 130 posts decides it is his responsibility to call for other posters to be banned instead of possibly giving the advice so humbly asked for. Imagine that.

Re: Backer
Is it frowned upon to ask for backer/try to sell a piece of yourself in the forums? If not where would be the appropriate place to do this?
