I guess it depends on what part of Canada you are trying to move to, but I know in Alberta the best way to get in fast is to get a job. A lot of big companies her in Calgary will help you do all your paper work if they want to hire you. I am not sure about the other Provinces.

Funny, I'm Canadian and I'd consider moving to Holland.

Really?

I thought Canada was supposed to be nice. Friendly people, socialist attitude, etc...

Maybe I should start a "Tell me about Canada" thread...

Like Ski said it's a point system. There are a lot of factors though(too many to list here) and different ones based on where you are moving from. One of my friends wanted to emigrate from England to Canada and the stack of paper work was huge. Most of her points came from things like education, the type of profession she was in and ability to prove she could support herself without social care.

No, there's no draft. Similar? hmmmmm, I don't know about that, Canadians are way nicer people, Canada is just a so much nicer country and place to live in. And like I said, all the people I care about and who I love live here.
Thanks for the advice you've given me so far, if you know anything else please let me know.

Jeffrey

Have your family sponsor you assuming they are citizens.

Marry someone or go to school. Or if you have $200,000 CND (approx. $199,999 USD) you can invest it here and get a passport.

Too young to get in on points.

If you have a serious girlfriend you don't have to be married to get sponsored. We have a "conjugal partner" VISA that is similar to a marriage VISA.
