Last night I lost £10 on William Hill, and then a kind gentleman from Chicago sent me $150 on Full Tilt to play $0.15/$0.25. I tried this for a while, getting to $190, down to $90, up to $200, down to $135, etc. I was pretty tilty and playing two tables. Discipline forgotten I sat at $0.50/$1 and lost it, one beat and one misplayed hand. So no funds now. My next paycheque will be very small since I only worked two days last week. The more I lose the more I want to play; the big win is round the corner and this time I'll be able to bank it. So funny, knowing something to be a lie, a ludicrous falsehood with no foundation in reality, and yet not being able to stop believing it. You might call it my version of faith.

your a fing idiot. guy trys to help you on a stake and you lie to him, by playing higher than your supost to and blow it first night. doesnt matter how much it was, your a welcher

All you ever post is negative comments ...dont even bother next time, your obv just a jealous annoyin [censored]/hater. Theres far too many of ye on the interweb.

Nah I understand Squareview's frustration here, the reaction is justified.

Even conceding anyone who sends money to Jim probably deserves to lose it, as I read the post part of the staking arrangement was that Jim play at a level he might be viably rolled for--or as close as Jim is ever going to get--with 150.00.

Predictably Jim paid no heed. Despite the fact it was someone else's money he was playing with (so much for being more conservative) he moved up to stakes he was -EV in and promptly dumped off the entire bit.

Congratulations Jim, taking advantage of someone's good will is the mark of a true degenerate, you should feel very proud.

I am no more or less +/- EV at 0.50/1 or 5/10 than at 0.15/0.25, DUCY?

I was obviously referring strictly to what you were rolled for, since I'm sure that was at the crux of your staking arrangement. With 150.00 you are most certainly -EV at .50/1.00

Why don't you just admit you went back on your word or lied to the guy?

I find this work demeaning and degrading - it is not a job for a well-spoken articulate intelligent middle class man such as myself. I have the snobbery of the lawyers and the laziness of the secretaries; I do not fit in. But it is over-paid, and I largely get by surfing the Internet, going for tea and cigarette breaks, and reading the newspaper in the toilets. It does nothing for my self-esteem. Poker provides the buzz at the end of another dreary week.

I feel largely the same way about the IT world.

very good writing Jim... you really should look into writing for something poker related, although a book would be a good read too.

Thread moved here because it's long and seems like it warrents saving, but now that Jim added affiliate links to his blog, it's not kosher in NVG. Plz lock and file in "[censored] we didn't delete"
