What car should I buy?

You've mentioned that you don't want to buy an Escalade because of awful resale value and even worse gas mileage. So money is an issue here. You're obviously comfortable and going to buy a very nice car, but money is still obviously somewhat of an issue.
The BMW is a fantastic car, and if that's what you have your heart set on, go buy it tomorrow and you'll love every minute of it.
But know what comes with it.
It is going to be very expensive to maintain. I don't know how long you usually keep your vehicles for, so maybe this isn't as much of an issue as it would be for most people.
My recommendation is the Lexus GS sedan. Maybe this isn't something you're interested in, but take a look at it. It's beautiful, powerful, luxurious and "sensible."
Another car I would recommend is the Acura RL.
