Re: PLO200: shoving KKQTds preflop?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] There are about $120 in dead money at this point. [/ QUOTE ] Isn't there $157? Also, we don't know CO and Hero's exact stack sizes so coming up with the exact odds isn't possible. [/ QUOTE ] "UTG limps, hero raises to $9, CO calls, 2 folds, BB raises to $39, UTG calls, Hero...?" (1+2) - Blinds (9) - CO (37) - BB (39) - Hero (39) - UTG Total: $127 Miscalculated it a bit myself it seems, but you're right that the situation is a bit contrived and obviously if CO doesn't cover (or close to covers) it's instacall. |

Re: PLO200: shoving KKQTds preflop?
I'd have to give an unknown credit for AA, so I'd call and play the flop accordingly. I'll probably have to stack off on overpair with flush draw, which I'm betting out.

Re: PLO200: shoving KKQTds preflop?
I'll felt on it PF. I had a very similar ds QQ wrap recently against AA and ran the odds PF (since I lost the hand). That particular AA was just 58-42 favorite. Of course, if it's AAds in your suits with other blockers, AA can be big favorite, but I think on average you're somewhere around 60-40.

Re: PLO200: shoving KKQTds preflop?
Definitely don't repot against an unknown. There are a few rare situations where you can 4-bet KKds for stacks with a solid read on the 3-bettor, but you're way better off just calling here. Also, your hand will play much better in a 3-way pot than it will getting HU with AAxx.

Re: PLO200: shoving KKQTds preflop?
[ QUOTE ]
Might be closer than you'd think. KKxx, even a very strong one like the one in the OP, doesn't run too well against AAxx, which we have to assume is the holding of CO 99% of the time here. [/ QUOTE ] This is absolutely not true. In a multi-way pot like this the CO 4-bettor will often show up with 5678ds or something. Although if the BB 3-bet and folded to a 4-bet (without timing out), it makes it more likely that the CO does have aces, and also makes it more likely that our kings are dead. |
