Re: Dial up connetion?
Until last year I was playing online with dial-up for 6 years! I was teased about this for a long time. It works, but if you start doing anything else, you run the risk of disconnects. Disconnects + No All-In protection = -EV.
Do yourself a favor and get hi-speed. It serves so many other purposes. Plus, the internet is designed for hi-speed, not dial up anymore. |

[ QUOTE ] From laughter? Or because you feel bad for me? [/ QUOTE ]I edited your post to reflect my own [censored] situation. [/ QUOTE ] Ah i missed that. I'm glad someone feels my pain. I used to have highspeed and it is very tough to go back to good old 56k... |

Re: Dial up connetion?
I still play on FTP using dial-up for the same reason, no DSL where I live. I have DSL at my office and once in great while play from there. I have noticed virtually no difference in play. I rarely play more than 2 tables at a time, however, have no add-on programs running, and dont surf the web while I play.
Yeah, high speed is great and I would get it in heartbeat if I could, but it isn't NECESSARY for play. Skallagrim |

Re: Dial up connetion?
I've played up to 10 tables on 2 different sites at at time using both PAHUD and PT with no problems on dialup. You just can't be websurfing at all or you will lag.
