Deep-stacked raise sizing dilemma with AA
Going by memory for this hand...
NL100 Hero ($250) has AA in the SB UTG (~$100) raises to $2 2 folds BTN (~$250) raises to $6 Hero? BTN has loose 3-betting and 3-bet calling ranges. He has called my 3 bets with suited connectors, etc. He has also folded to some 3-bets, so it's not like he calls every one. What do you make it? |

Re: Deep-stacked raise sizing dilemma with AA
So if we bet $20, villain has to call $14 to win the $9 in the pot plus your $250 stack? Thats 259-14 odds, or 18.5-1. Given the fact that we are stacking off every time and villain is likely to call for set value, I think this is very dangerous. (I think we can forget about the fact that we don't always stack off in metagame situations, with AK for instance. In this rare, deepstacked spot with a small preceding 3-bet, our AA is the only range that matters IMO.)

Re: Deep-stacked raise sizing dilemma with AA
FWIW, I raised to $24 (exactly a PSB) and he folded, but in retrospect I think $30 is better, even though we are telegraphing our hand. What say you?

If you would raise with any other hand to $30 in this spot too, it's fine imo.

Re: Deep-stacked raise sizing dilemma with AA
Pop it to over 30 so he you can narrow his range quite a lot if he calls. This will make him fold the hands he only continues with if he out flops you. Anything else will fold to either raise size.
