I read villain for a pp but did not think I was deep enough to fold. I already decided that all my money was go into the pot when I raised. If he pushed pre-flop I was calling. I decided not to re-raise pre-flop because I had no fe. I was hoping for a scare card on the flop but was pushing regardless.
Your thoughts.

I know you don't have FE pre, but you need to jam still, for value.

On this flop, overpairs (which make up a large range of his hand here) aren't folding. You're really only folding hands you beat and no hands that call you should be behind.

This is why i DONT like a SNG with AK...the "scare" cards to which he'll fold are A and K...the ones you dont want him to fold on. Sure he may fold 66 on JT9 etc but in general he's not folding a better hand very often, but he could fold his 2-outer on a Ace-high board - which you dont want. I just shove it in preflop.

My thoughts are you didn't want to race with AK even though you were committed at this point so you decided to FPS and it got screwed when you got called down with 1010 anyway?

Nothing is folding on the flop that is still ahead, basically, and if an A or K comes up, well, now what? JJ finds a fold? Finally, AQ will probably fold on a dry board, and that sucks. Easy pre push.

If villain has TT and a J/Q/K/or A hits the board, don't I gain more fe?

No. First of all, you don't want FE if a K or A hits.

I think that given villain's stack at this point, it is EXTREMELY unlikely he folds if a J comes up irrespective of how strong your line looks (fwiw, I think an average player can smell a rat here, but it doesn't matter, I don't think he can fold if a J hits). A "Q" is the only suspect card that can help you out, and even that is not so great.

Pokerstove your AK v. AQ and 1010+ given the action thus far. This is a really standard shove.

FWIW, villain is big winner at the $4 180s. He just re-raised 1/2 his stack pre, which against the fishcakes at this level, i assume is a huge hand from him almost always. Even with AK, AQ, JJ-99 i think he just re-shoves pre. So I think he has QQ+ here a lot.

In practice, I'd just shove pre here, though given my read I should fold. But never would.

My read was TT-QQ.
Given my read, can I fold this pre-flop?
As played, can I check/fold the flop?

Villain had 99

No and not likely.

As you can see, missing the flop with AK is bad. You have a pot that is double what you have left. You are committed and likely have 6 outs.

Here's some things to remember. A stop and go is something to be used sparingly. It is overrated. It is much better to have a made hand than a drawing hand when using the stop and go.

AK likes to see all five cards. Shove preflop. You are likely in a race and sometimes against AQ or AJ. All the ICM models and equity machines would say get all you chips in preflop.
