given your turn action its very unlikely you have an ace.

[/ QUOTE ]

villain shouldn't have one either.

EDIT: i don't get the action. is this a huhu table?

[/ QUOTE ]

Quiet Lion sits 30/60 HUHU pretty often on Tilt.

the SB is the button and acts first preflop, right?

Ya I was BB. Miss typed it in OP.

He raises the turn with A high for free showdown I think, cause I usually bet the turn with w/e I 3 bet with. If he has quads or a bigger pair he always 4 bets the turn. Who knows tho maybe he blfufed me with T9 haha.

HU with quiet lion. i am the SB

he is aggro on the big streets but not dumb

he raises pre, i 3 bet with 99, he calls
flop 888, i bet he calls
turn, i bet/3 bet, he calls
river A, i bet/fold

[/ QUOTE ]

Why not give your opponent a chance to bluff the river with this ace? Given your action preflop and later, it is obvious that you either have a pocket pair or a big ace. Many pocket pairs that would have called on the river may now fold after the ace hits. Trying to induce a bluff, or thin value bet from a worse hand, may give you a better chance of collecting a bet on the river.

And the check also saves money those times when your opponent has an ace.

i really dont like this hand for some reason, because i dont see why hed raise the turn with AK, and thats the only hand which beats you on the river IMO.

if he knows you never fold a pair, why the hell would he raise the turn with A-high?

[/ QUOTE ]

good point, our hero think he got an Ace but dont think he is trying to make us fold a small pair when he raises turn... what is he then doing?
