Default Neeeeeed help! Over-pair VS possible set question.

Id'like to ask you, guys, question - about how you consider shoving on flop with overpair. I have examples in my hand history, where my shoved overpair is called and face smth like AK unimproved, or TPTK, or lower overpair - but i allso have examples, where i am against two pair or set. Assume, there is no draws on board - in general - overpair in any time can be beaten with two pair and set. David Sklansky wrote, that it "is a mistake - going too far with too weak hands" - according to this - overpair can be beaten at any time.

What is your general line here - playing overpair, if we are called/check-raised/reraised on flop? Evaluating villain AF/went to SD/PFR/Cal preflop-raise? Call and evaluate on turn(so what if blank came)? Or may be it is better to check behind on flop and keep the bank small?

Speaking general - if villain knows, that i will push with overpair - that may be easy to exploit - calling my PFR with ANY pair, flopping SET and calling my push.

Here is the hand - villain is real good. Stats: 17/7/2.2 by 1100 hands. No any other reads.

Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $49.50
Hero (BB): $47.05
UTG: $12.71
MP: $55.14
CO: $165.78
BTN: $33.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K (6 Players)
2 folds, CO calls $0.50, BTN folds, <font color="red">SB raises to $2.00</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to $6.00</font>, CO folds, SB calls $4.00

Flop: ($12.50) 7 8 J (2 Players)
SB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets $8.00</font>, <font color="red">SB raises to $16.00</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises all-in to $41.05</font>, SB calls $25.05

Turn: ($94.60) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 All-In)

River: ($94.60) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 All-In)

Pot Size: $94.60 ($3.50 Rake)

Calling on flop has 8$ to 36,5$ = 1:4,5. If called on turn we will have 44,5 pot, blank card and by 25$ behind.
Pushing on flop has 33$ to 36$.

There was a post by Dbitel that showed you need 11.7 to 1 implied odds to make calling a bet for set value to be +ev due to the times where you flop a set and still lose to a higher set, straight or flush. Knowing that, make sure you 3bet close to pot, at least seven here. If he calls you will have denied him the proper implied odds to have made that call. Even if you stack off everytime in the long run you will be +ev.

Ok, i see - i was right in playing for the whole stack, but i was wrong in giving villain enough implied odds to stack me with lower pair. Thank you for your help, very much.
