Hero checks, MP checks, Button bets $1, Hero raises to $6.65, MP folds, Button calls $5.65.

River: ($23.90) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: $23.90

Btw if the button didnt call, i would have mucked the flop - looking back though im starting to believe that him calling actually reduces my EV instead of making me better pot odds because he could also have a strong hand to beat me(ie strong flush A high would call that bet)

You have more than a weak flush draw sir. You have a flush draw + gutshot which increases your equity quite nicely. As played, the flop is such a nice scenario to poooooooosh when it comes to you the second time. Get it in there and gambool it up.

Betting the flop is fine but not so much. I like a blocking bet, where we set the price to make our hand, or a check and turn lead. We have 13 outs, 4 7's and 9clubs, in a 6max game, there's still 36 possible cards to come. so our odds are 13/36 or ~3:1. I like betting something under 1/3 pot so maybe .40 or .50. on turn i like c/c and c/f to a river club. if raised, like on flop, same plan. call flop, c/c turn and c/f to river club or lead a blank. with small (vurnlerable) flush i like to keep the pot relatively small and get to the showdown.

I like to ch/r flop since villian more then often will cbet with any 2 overcards. Button might call this cbet with kindy weak hands like 8, 9 or even a gutshot and fold to your raise.
