In this situation I typically raise small, it just seems to look so much stronger. So I say something like 9-11k....

on the other hand I feel like I get in more trouble making cute plays with Q8 sooted...I seem to always run into a station, or a monster. especially with 3 callers...IF someone hi a set they know you will Cbet so they will check to you and you are pot committed...but at least you have a 30% chance.

I realize that PF was a mistake, was looking to 3 bet gobbo and got impatient. I was MP1 and felt the raise would get respect.

The fish's cold call seemed very strong so that was really the issue but I don't think I can do much but get it in here. FYI I bet 14k and ran into gobbo 44 and fish's JJ and set held.

The flop play is really easy: make some obviously stack-committing bet. With 18k in the pot, you can probably just shove. If people have more like 25k left, you can bet like 15k, whatever. Bottom line is you're obviously going broke here, so take your last crack at some fold equity before conceding to be at least 34% to win the hand.

Preflop is fine once in a while.

I'd probably check the flop, I'd put your fold equity at roughly negative a billion against the cold caller of the 3 bet. No point putting your stack in behind just cuz u feel like you should bet a flush draw.

Oh and turn a club

I think a shove is better to maybe fold out something from the fish who doesn't want to risk his 'tournament life' when calling it off.

You just got unlucky I flopped a jesus flop unfortunately, though I was 4betting you if it had been HU preflop. You barely looked at your cards before you decided to 3bet me.

I don't think preflop is as bad as people are making it.

This is a really good flop for you, and I would push or bet close to pot.
