Re: Do you tell ?
[ QUOTE ]
I think what I'm trying to say is that in theory, telling him sounds like a great idea and the obvious right thing to do. In reality, it never works out the way it should, friendships are broken, unfair judgments are made, and resentment sets in. I have never once gotten involved in a situation like this that I later wished I had just stayed out of. [/ QUOTE ] Have you been in that situation, when they found out later that you knew and didn't speak... ... and it didn't end up WORSE than what you described? I'm ratting. |

Re: Do you tell ?
[ QUOTE ]
friend's wife leaves him. ex is screwing buddy. a bunch of others knew (i did not, and if i did, i would have told him, a bunch knew cause 3 of them live with him) he doesnt' find out for a month. he cannot trust any of those guys. it was that everyone knew for a month or so, and not one of them told him. [/ QUOTE ] More detail needed. 1) Did ex- leave for buddy, or did it happen after breakup? 2) I assume buddy was aggressively hiding it from hero? |

Re: Do you tell ?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] If Mike was a really good bud and really liked the chick, I might say something about Jill. I just wouldn't include Jack in the equation. [/ QUOTE ] Have fun with this line. [/ QUOTE ] I have. It's not always a fun situation. But if you're really good buds, you don't just do the easy situations. You're there for them during the bad ones too. b |

They tend to wonder what else you don't tell them and if you actually have their back or not. b |

If one of my good friends hooked up with another one of my good friends girlfriends, Id punch the guy in teh face and take no action after that.

Re: Do you tell ?
i had something similar happen recently. i decided that if my friend found out, he'd be mad for a little while and then forgive them anyway. so, my course of action was to pretty much cut the dbag friend out of my life, and try to convince the ex to tell my friend what happened.

Re: Do you tell ?
Of course I would want to know. But if you lived in Atlanta and were close friends with me, Bill, and the ex-girlfriend, and I walked in on them coming out of a bathroom together at a bar, and you heard it second-hand that they banged from some other friends, I just don't think it's your business to get involved.
