Limping pre-flop got you into this mess.

Raise Preflop...at least bump it a bit..doing that will get 97 outta the way.

I prob raise PF too but I'll limp this some too. Nothing you can do on the flop. Happily get your money in against two pair, set and any draw.

Thanks tackleberry and the rest of you guys for the replys.I generally dont raise early with medium pp's.so im guessing that in $26 mtts and lower thats a snap call and higher buyins im probally against the nuts 75% of the time?against an unknown player.

i don't think anyone really folds here. As many said your are ahead a lot of the time and a large time against a d
draw, and no matter what they have you have a good redraw.

never folding here would not be a bad play.

I also think

"im probally against the nuts 75%"

is way too high of an estimate.

raise preflop

Open-raising preflop is of course okay (that's pretty much never a horrible play), but is it really preferable to limping here? With 22-88 early in a donkament, I like to keep the pot small preflop and to keep hands like 97o in the pot, so I can stack them when I hit a set.

Too bad the OP got cold-decked, but I think he played it fine.
