I thought Stars checks over 1k are sent via Courier

im lame i take out only like 500 at time but every week, or every other week.

generally. 5-7business days...
but then i again the place who cuts the checks is in cali i think from last time i looked at adress on chex.

well, i emailed them and got this response:

"Hello James,

All US Checks are sent by Express Mail, not courier. These chequest
typically take 5-7 days to be delivered. Please let us know if you have
any more questions or concerns.

PokerStars Support Team"

To their credit the response was very quick and courteous as stars CS always is. However, i could have sworn that when i withdrew a screen came up that said my check would be sent via courier, but i could be remembering wrong, or remembering how it was a few months ago.

Anyways, how is express mail different from regular mail?

I guess the courier is just for those outside the US. You kind of have to read carefully on their " Recieving checks from pokerstars" page.

"USD Checks will be delivered by regular mail and should arrive within 15 business days. For all other currencies, checks under $1,000 USD equivalent will be sent by regular mail, and should arrive within 15 business days and checks over $1,000 USD equivalent will be delivered by courier and should arrive within 7 business days. "

So checks in other currencies that are equivalent to 1k US will be sent via courier, but not checks in USD.

If u ask me this is pretty lame. Why are US players a lower priority than those from other countries? ID theft is the fastest growing crime in the US, and i for one would feel much better if i had a check for 1k+ delivered to me personally rather than put in my mailbox. Not to metion that waiting 9 business days for a check is just annoying. And for me, epass has not been much better so if i need cash quickly from my bankroll for some reason i cannot get it.

omgggg...this is like thread # 100000 on this topic.

If Stars could use courier, they would. But the major couriers don't want to do business with them because of the new legislation. They are not favoring Euro players, or high dollar players, or anything else. They do everything they can at all times to pay us out as quickly as possible.

Just be glad you get your checks as fast as you do.

Already asked, they replied, you are correct, they use different processors for checks IN the US, these processors don't offer courier anymore. They use Priority mail instead.
